Prescott Plays!

As a community and neighborhood hub, Prescott Elementary PTO recognizes the importance of clean, safe, and inclusive facilities for students and the broader Near South Neighborhood community of approximately 10,000 residents.

The Prescott Elementary playground is also utilized during after-school programming provided by a partner organization. This allows children of working parents to get fresh air in a safe, structured environment.

About Prescott Plays!

Prescott Elementary's playground facility is slated for ADA accessibility upgrades, turf installation on the soccer field space, and new rubber tile installation for Summer 2025. This portion of the project is to be funded by LPS. These upgrades include removing retaining walls and moving equipment further away from the building. LPS is only budgeting to relocate the current structure, and schools are responsible for fundraising for new equipment.

Prescott Elementary PTO is fundraising to upgrade the entire playground, including an early childhood space (rated for ages 2-5), a K-5 space (rated for ages 5-12), and upgrades to the outdoor classroom.  The total cost of the new playground is expected to total over $272,000.
